The House of Rumour is a promoter of oral storytelling performance for grownups - myth, epic, folklore, and fairytales - through events built to inspire, enrich and empower imaginations.

We create spaces for thirsty imaginations to drink from the magic fountain of Story - to celebrate tales (re)told out loud, drawn from material that has survived the test of time, polished by generations of voices.

We exist to promote story performance - a unique theatrical artform - and diversify what's available to audiences, by showcasing work (whether that be by seasoned masters or emerging voices) that finds new voice in ancient stories.

House of Rumour story nights provide performers with a bridge between ‘work in progress’ and ‘finished product’, encouraging creative daring in context of serious, audience-worthy live performance.

In our regular London-based events, listeners are invited to experience dynamic performances of orally transmitted stories from professional tellers who have made empowering imaginations their life's work.
